Taking Augmentin for cat scratches

I took Cipro about 1.5 years ago.

Today, a stray cat came to my backyard and scratched me and caused bleeding. I washed it with soap and water immediately, but I didn't feel comfortable. I went to the emergency room in the evening. I got tetanus and rabies shots and will get 2 more doses.

However, the real problem starts here. The doctor prescribed antibiotics. She asked if I was allergic and I briefly explained what happened to me. She still prescribed Augmentin and said, "cat scratches spread some diseases, take this."

Exactly 1 month ago, a widely talked news spread and according to the news, a young man lost his vision after being scratched by a stray cat. The treatment is to use antibiotics and cortisone for months, plus the vision loss may not go away completely.

I am so tired of this situation. I constantly find myself in a mess and I don't know what decision to make. Now I read all about this disease, just like I used to do about cipro.

I don't know what to do. On one hand, there is taking a box of Augmentin now, and on the other hand, there is a risky disease and months of antibiotic treatment.

If you have experienced something like this, your opinions would be very appreciated.
