Where are the safest places to put your camp?

Im a newer player (level 13) and EVERYTIME i try to put my camp down im attacked by like 5 different creatures/mutants/etc. i would like somewhere somewhat safer. I started trying to put it near the wayward where its safe but everyone always places their camps there and mine always despawns bc of that. I just want to place it somewhere where it doesnt despawn everytime.
