Easy to convince someone to give up their side lower for a side upper?

I'm traveling to Mumbai next week on the rajdhani from Delhi with a friend. Both of us have got side uppers in a 2 AC. How hard will it be to convince someone to give up on of the side lowers below either of our seats so that we're in the same compartment at least? Are the passengers too hard up about their seats?
