Whats with kroger and beverages on the clock?
I really don't understand what the managers at my location have against simple drinks like water and coffee? This morning i decided to pick up a cup of Pikes Place brew from the Starbucks stand. My shift started at 6am so i definitely needed a boost for a long day.
On a regular basis, my coworkers and managers order from the Starbucks. Sometimes they leave them at registers. So i didn't think much of my morning drink until one manager explaned I'm technically not supposed to have it. (while she's drinking her own Starbucks) They told me to take it to the customer service desk so it wouldn't spill on anything.
A few hours went by and another boss brought me my drink (had my name and a paid sticker on it). Told me to get rid of it as a upper person didn't want to see if anywhere. Apparently it was considered an outside drink despite the store having a Starbucks indoors. So i regretfully threw a half-drunken coffee i paid good money for.
This isn't the first time i had this issue. Usually I'm too poor to buy Starbucks so i make coffee at home. There was one day my personal traveler mug went missing until a manager told me it was in lost-n-found. They didn't Th know whose it was and i shouldn't leave it at the time clock.
Yes i have a locker but why walk across the store, up the stairs, stopping your work every five minutes, just to sip on something? I've heard many of my coworkers warn me no one in upper management wants to see me sip my water bottle. Its a human need and its not like they need water too!
What do they want us to do? Run around as dehydrated zombies?
