Switching from 20mg to 40mg

I've been on 20mg of lexapro for about 2years ish and for the first year and 1/2 it truly changed my life for the better. So if you're dealing with anxiety and scared of taking this medication, I can say that for me, it was a game changer. No side effects. No anxiety.

But after a year and 1/2, I noticed I started relying on my clonazepam to help with the occasional anxieties. Now, for the past 6 months I've been really depending on that 0.5mg of clonazepam almost daily to help with my anxiety.

I talked to my dr and since lexapro worked so well for me, we decided to up my dose to 40mg. I started with 30mg for a week and felt very anxious and just very jittery. I decided to still go to the 40mg and it's been 2 days and right now I still have that anxiety and insomnia.

Anyways, anyone here experienced more anxiety while upping their dosage? does it go away?

I'm just worried that lexapro isn't working for me anymore and that I just need to change medication.

Also for context, we upped the dosage for me to stop relying on clonazepam. I deal with GAD, agoraphobia and panic disorder.
