I don’t understand labels when it comes to sexuality and nonbinary people
Hi! I know that the definition of lesbian is “non-men loving non-men”, which easily includes nonbinary people. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone refer to gay (men) as “non-women loving non-women”. Why is that? Is it because of misogyny somehow?
Therefore, are nonbinary folks included in both? Can a nonbinary person date a lesbian and then a gay man? Or is it presenting/anatomy based? Because that would not be very cool
And would that make the straight identities “non-men loving non-women” and “non-women loving non-men”? Can nonbinary people date straight people? Both straight men and straight women?
Or do these terms apply only to queer people?
And what about a woman who is attracted to women only, not nonbinary people? Is she just a lesbian with a preference? The same for gay men.
What if someone is attracted only to nonbinary people? (Is there anyone like that?) What label would they fit in?
Is a nonbinary person who likes only men automatically gay? And if they like only women are they just lesbian? Is there something like nonbinary loving nonbinary?
I’m so sorry these are strange questions - I thought I understood the terms but I think I got them all mixed up.
But at the end of the day - those are just labels, some people like them, some do not and they vary from one to another. I just want to understand these differences better for the future! 🤗
