Why Lucifer was cancelled?

I never fully understand why Lucifer was cancelled?

At first I thought because of the ratings now I think it's was the main protagonist of the series it self Lucifer.

I remember the announcement they doing a show about the devil people were upset. Many people were so upset how the show was portrayed the Michael in the series.

So many people didn't watch the show because they thought the series was making fun of their religion and God.
