Support Main players - I have a newbie question

Hi Marvel Rivals group..I need your guidance and attention... I'm actually new to this game btw, I wanna ask as a support main are we really obligated to chase Storm, Spiderman and Iron Man to heal them...because 3 of my rank games I got yelled at by this kind of players where they said stop prioritizing healing tanks and focus on them instead..but I told them that I'm busy healing people on the ground so I just ping them to come close or ask them to get healing packs....and they yelled at me calling names like monkey, ching-chong, 3rd world country rat 🥺....So as a support are we really obligated to chase prioritize characters who are flying above in mach speed so that we can heal them? Thanks...
