Amitriptyline help

Anyone who is on amitriptyline how long did it take for amitriptyline to work? I swear my headaches have only gotten worse (though it has only been a couple days). Also how long till the side effects wear off? Im exhausted and cant focus on anything, I feel like im on a different planet im so out of it. Thanks for the help EDIT: thanks to everyone who replied. I have decided to stop taking them (I only had two so not worried about withdrawal) as I became very depressed on the second day and just spent the whole day crying and feeling like I wasnt real. I appreciate all the advice I was given but these clearly aren't the meds for me
