Is Kid icarus Uprising to be a looter shooter?

So I have been discussing my favorite game genres with someone and I mentioned that kid icarus uprising is a looter shooter. they disagreed because in most other looter shooters you can use the weapon as soon as you collect them, such as borderlands and destiny. I however think that isnt a requirement. all that matters is that there is a wide variety of randomly generated weapons with unique stats. which Kid icarus definitely meets those qualifications.
