To catch a troll, a recap

as many of you may have seen, “karma” has deleted her account, and the reason why may not be the reason you think. i’m being vague abt multiple details for the safety of the trolls bc i don’t believe in endangering others, before anyone asks for specifics. let’s dive in to a little lesson on internet safety!

-a couple of us thought it would be funny to try and see if we could trick the accounts into clicking on an IP grabbing link, to confirm whether or not they were in michigan

-both accounts were foolish enough :)

-first, after a bit of hassling from the person who messaged her, “karma” clicked on the link. this notified the person who created the link that “karma” is in fact not from michigan. when asked how that area is she said “what” and claimed she was using a vpn, then quickly deleted her account. this was ofc not before saying a slur on the reddit!

-it took a little longer for “cora” to take the bait. no shocker here, “cora” is also not from michigan, but rather the nowhere near it 💀she was then asked if that area is nice this time of year, i don’t think a response was given

-the person who made the link said that it would have told them if either was using a vpn, neither was

so today we learned kids that if you’re gonna pretend to be someone, at the very least be smart and use a vpn… and don’t click on random links that strangers give you 🤗 until next time!
