Best Exercises for Nurses
I am currently trying to help out a friend in nursing, who is starting out exercising. She is currently trying to lose weight and get into better shape but lacks the know-how to do so. With some knowledge in going to the gym and running, I gave her the basic run down of working out as well as the necessary dietary changes that should happen(being in a calorific deficient without cutting out food groups, as well as hitting a certain protein goal). And I did already explain to her that she's not going to get "bulky" from weightlifting, so she's willing to put in the work with weight training. That being said, when it comes to what I know, my knowledge is primarily in body building, which is suitable for her goals but I feel the exercises she will do could be more targeted towards her profession as a nurse.
So I was wondering what are some of the main bodily concerns, complains, and aches nurses experience in their job, and what exercises can be done to strengthen the body and reduce injuries. And I'd imagine targeting certain muscles groups as well by performing exercises that simulate the common physical activities of nursing, I think would be greatly beneficial. Any advice that would provide me better insight and increase the efficacy of her training would be helpful, thank you!
