Reddit Chosen Oscars: FYC Thread
Hi all! Today I wanted to set up this thread because tomorrow will be the first round of voting for the annual Reddit Chosen Oscars and I wanted to give everyone a chance to recommend some of their favorite films of the past year to those on the sub. I will try out something new for this year and see how everyone feels about it by the end, the first round of voting will determine the shortlists while the next round will determine the nominations and the final round will determine winners. For the shortlists there will be 15 listed for most categories, 25-30 for Best Picture depending on how many votes are cast. Voting will go on for a week then the shortlists will be posted and voted on next Sunday. That voting will go on for a week then nominations will be posted and voted on. Finally on March 2nd, the day before the Oscars, the winners will be revealed.
New categories will be added as well btw. Those being: Best Casting (different from Ensemble), Best Animal Performance, Best Scene, Best Award Season Campaign/Narrative (This was suggested and thought it seemed fun, curious how it’ll look like), and Best Short Film (adding this back for now). If any of these categories don’t go well then they will be just for this year, if they go well then they could be new staples.
Any questions, concerns, or suggestions can be voiced here as well. If you have none feel free to start on your For Your Considerations to your fellow community members.
