Allegations Against License, Failed Drug Test

Hope this is not against the rules to post this but I don't know where else to go for advice.

Hi friends,

So I just got started with travel physical therapy. To make a long story short, I failed a drug test (weed) and initially lost a contract over it. I later reapplied to the same contract through a different agency, was tested again, and got the contract (tested negative or they did not test for it this time, not sure which). I have been working at this place for about 6 weeks and got a call late last week informing me that allegations were filed against my license due to the failed drug test. Also, worth mentioning that this all happened in a state where rec. weed is legal. I use it primarily as a sleep aid and have never/would never be on it while working.

Has anyone else been through something like this? Does anyone know how the board views these situations? The person I spoke to that informed me said that the consequences could vary greatly from nothing at all to potentially losing my license. I can't imagine a situation where the latter is the case, but I am still nervous to say the least.

EDIT: Thank you everyone for the comments. I feel loads better and now have a decent understanding of the situation and how things might unfold. I was told it can take quite a long time for the board to reach a decision on whether or not to proceed against me, but I will try to update this post when possible so others can use it for reference.

UPDATE: I received a notice today that the file has been closed. Thank goodness.
