What are the odds/probability that this happened
Okay so i need help with some complicated math, atleast for me it is complicated.
two parts of this complicated problem.
First part: Imagine i have a dice that has 285 sides to it. so rolling the dice i have a 0.35% chance to get the number that i want. Now imagine i roll that dice first try and got the number i was wanting. Now i pick up the dice and roll it a 2nd time and it rolls on the exact same number again.
Second part: Imagine that the number i rolled means that i now win 1 of 83 different prizes that are valued equally and that i will get randomly selected 1 of the 83 prizes. I rolled the dice twice and got the same number, both dice won the 1/83 random prize, and both prizes were the same exact thing.
What are the odds/probability that all of this happened?
If possible can you also show what the math is so i can learn how to calculate this myself?
