Imposter in Trading Internship

What would happen if you secretly replaced someone in Jane Street’s incoming trading cohort with the median math student. Someone who’s mathematically literate, can write very basic code and is not a complete genius.

Would the difference be immediately obvious, or could they blend in for a while? How would the traders react, would they patiently teach them or would they get steamrolled by the intensity of the environment?

Would their training program be enough to turn them into a competent trader and even if they initially struggled, could this student eventually thrive with hard work and dedication?
