Random question - MSG goal song/cheer

Haven’t been to a game since ~2000 and I don’t recall the goal cheer existing at that time. Moved out of state and wasn’t able to watch the games for quite a long time. When I got back into it (5-6 years ago) the current goal chant existed.

So… when did it start? And how exactly does something like that start to begin with? How does a whole stadium’s worth of people learn a new celebration ritual?
