Collection arranged, will I receive an email?

Ive rearranged a collection from my local post office for a signed for parcel after 2 failed delivery attempts. I had originally rearranged if after the first failed attempt Wednesday. But after going twice on Friday to collect it I was told that because they attempt to delivery it twice. It didn't count and I needed to arrange collection. It's now due to be delivered Monday and my main delivery office has told me I will receive an email when my parcel has arrived at it's collection point. Can anyone please confirm if this is true? I really don't want to have to travel there again only to get turned back.
