How many days would you recommend in Singapore for a dude who hates shopping?
Headed to Singapore in about six weeks. Always been curious about it, but other Southeast Asian destinations have always won out and have never visited.
I scored a round-trip Singapore Airlines business class seat using credit card points (humble brag), and after that, I’ll be heading to Thailand and Vietnam. But first, I need to decide: 2 nights or 3 in Singapore?
I’ve done my research (a.k.a. watched too many YouTube videos) and it seems the main attractions are:
- Shopping – Hard pass.
- Historic sites – Cool in moderation, but I tap out after too many plaques.
- Marina Bay Sands – Looks wild, so I’ll check it out.
- Eating – Love it, but food alone won’t keep me entertained.
Other things I might enjoy:
- Gardens – Could be cool for a couple of hours, but will I find them too artificial? Manmade rain? Really?
- People watching & chaos watching
- Meeting interesting people.
I land at 6 AM, so I’ll have a full first day (possibly jetlagged). Should I stay 2 nights (one full day to explore) or 3 nights (two full days)? I’ll be staying at the Andaz, if that factors in.
So, what do you recommend? Will 3 nights be too much for someone who hates shopping and has a short attention span for historical stuff? Appreciate any insights!
