Best Dino for 1V1/Versatility ?

I usually run solo and trying to one trick a dino. The croc wss fun, but end game is just getting eaten by mix packing/2+ full grown crocs the moment you step into south plains river. I never really played any other dino so I'll be starting from scratch in terms of knowledge and interactions with other species.
