New to veganism... Raised by conservatives

I HAVE RECEIVED PLENTY OF HELP, THANK YOU ALL! PLEASE DIRECT YOUR ATTENTION ELSEWHERE (if there's even enough newbies to need help. I hope there are. Haven't peeked at the sub yet)

Hey everyone. Please help me learn more about veganism, I know this sounds like a spy or inside job but I genuinely wanna join y'all. So I was raised by Christian conservatives so you can likely guess how that went. I was the same as them for a while but someday realized... Huh... I think I'm kinda gay. So if I'm gay, I can't be homophobic. And that started the whole spiral and I've been waking up to the real state of the world for a while now.

Tonight I learned a lot about animal farming. I always hear vegans yelling about animal cruelty but the way a conservative brain processes that is "this is an overreaction and an attempt at taking my rights from me". It's stupid but that's how it works. These people just don't have the contextual knowledge needed to understand how the world works. "Yeah we cram animals in small places but... That's ALL it is right?"

I saw footage of the baby male chicks. The pigs. All the fun stuff. So apparently yeah it's much worse than that. Just wanted to come here and ask .. is there a single humane animal farm out there? I've never exactly liked eating animals anyways but... I've been told it is necessary for health ...

I guess I'll list my questions.

Are there any humane animal farms

Is it healthy to never eat meat again? I was taught that red meat contains certain proteins that can't be found anywhere else and are crucial to health

How can I, some random nobody, make a difference in the world to stop this kind of animal cruelty?

Any tips in general for a newbie like me?

Thanks in advance for your time!
