‘Friend’ stole my phone and went through my messages for years
A ‘friend’ stole my phone from me whilst on holiday but I didn’t know it was them. They had the rest of the holiday and ride home from airport to give it to me but didn’t. I found out they were also sad enough to keep guessing my passcode until it unlocked and then they went through all my messaging apps and watched my messages between people for years, as I was still logged into these things, and laughed about it and showed my private conversations to other people.
I have deleted these accounts years ago so they will no longer be able to see anything, but I’ve only just found out these things now.
I’m so mad that I’ll probably act irrational if I spoke to them in person. I’m also sad that this person pretended to be my friend for years and still continues now, whilst they’ve been laughing and making fun of me behind my back all these years. The fact that they did it for years shows that they have no guilt and that this wasn’t a mistake that was done in the heat of the moment.
I have decided that the best action to take is to say nothing, not tell them I know what they’ve done and to just cut this person out of my life and not be in contact. I know this will hurt them more as they already feel terrible about themselves in general and many friends have left their side over the years because they didn’t like the way this person is. I can now finally see the horrid person that everyone sees. Just annoyed it took me this long and that I stood by their side and stuck up for them every time when they were being the worst possible person behind my back.
