DJ Vlad Files $4 Million Lawsuit Against Rick Ross For Alleged Ozone Awards Beatdown
August 15th, 2008
Via MTV:
DJ Vlad filed a $4 million dollar lawsuit against Rick Ross in Federal Court in New York on Friday (August 15), claiming that the Miami MC orchestrated a “brutal attack” on Vlad (born Vlad Lyubovny) at the Ozone Awards in Houston last Sunday.
“Following a brief conversation between DJ Vlad and Ross in which Ross said, ‘We got beef,’ Ross’ accomplices, who had surrounded DJ Vlad while he spoke with Ross, proceeded to strike and beat DJ Vlad in Ross’ presence and without any protest on Ross’ part,” the suit says. The men then reportedly fled the scene and left Vlad laying on the ground “bleeding profusely” after one attacker shouted, “Yeah, mother—-er, that’s what you get.”
I suppose this sort of thing will happen from time to time. It should be interesting to see how Ross’ team of lawyers try to get him out of this one. Don’t mess with officer Ross.

Rick Ross Says His Lyrics Are Authentic
August 4th, 2008
Via AHH:
In an exclusive interview with Don Diva magazine, Ross is adamant that his lyrics illuminating the culture of drug dealing is from personal experience and that he’s never attempted to hide details from his past.
“When I’m making my music and talking about blow, it’s because I did it,” Rick Ross maintains. “When I say I’m rich off cocaine it’s because I did it. I never tried to hide my past! I put my name inside of all my CDs. My company has my SS #. I could’ve put a company name.”
I don’t think anyone is really denying the fact that he’s sold some white in his day or what he says in his lyrics isn’t true. It’s the fact that he is drowning in his denial that he’s never worked as a correctional officer. Regardless, his music is fire and people are still going to listen to it. He should have just been honest to the fans.

Rumors Of Rick Ross Working As A Correctional Officer: Confirmed
July 21st, 2008
Via AHH:
The questions over Rick Ross’ previous employment status has seemingly been answered by website TheSmokingGun.com, which released records showing the Miami rapper was at one time a corrections officer.
The rapper’s social security number matches that of a William Roberts, who was assigned to the South Florida Reception Center in Dade County. The 32-year-old rapper was appointed a prison guard in December of 1995 at the tender age of 19. He left the job in 1997.
If you saw the picture you could clearly tell that it was him. He had more hair on top of his head and no facial hair but his face looked the same. Regardless, Ross is a force to be reckoned with in the game. Just because he worked as a CO for some time doesn’t mean he didn’t hustle weight in the streets to make that paper. What is bullshit though, is how he lied to everyone.
